About Us
Pharmaceutical Solutions (also known as QP Service), a privately-owned Limited Company was established in January 1997 by founder Ashley Ruffle. We provide a wide range of Qualified Person (QP), Quality Assurance (QA), Good manufacturing practice (GMP) and regulatory services to the human and veterinary pharmaceutical industries. 

Representatives of the company include Qualified Persons (under Directive 2001/83/EC) able to provide general support and/or batch certification for a range of products for investigational (clinical trials) or commercial use, including oral, sterile and topical dosage forms as well as medical gases. 

The company also offers Auditing services, on-site or remote Quality/Technical support and Quality System development.
Pharmaceutical Solutions Ltd is a small, family-owned business that focuses on delivering customer satisfaction through being able to react quickly when urgent work is needed. We recognise that priorities can change quickly in the pharmaceutical industry, and we try to support our customers and key stakeholders the best we can, enabling them to release product to trial or market that is of the highest quality, safety and efficacy.

Ashley Ruffle CSci CChem FRSC
Founder, Managing Director & Consultant QP
- Over 40 years' experience in Pharmaceuticals including sterile products, tablets, capsules and softgels. Extensive experience in both head of Production and head of Quality roles in the design, commissioning and day to day management of sterile facilities. Other management responsibilities have included, resource-management, budgeting, hosting customer/ regulatory (MHRA, FDA) inspections and developing Quality Management Systems. Significant experience in auditing API suppliers, contract manufacturing /testing facilities, service providers and material/component suppliers on a global basis, including EU, USA, India & Japan.
- Eligible as QP for IMP and commercial products.
- Qualified Person with experience in the manufacture and packaging of all major product formats for both IMP and commercial use
- Production and Quality Management experience gained directly within the pharmaceutical environment
- Significant experience in preparing for and hosting regulatory and customer inspections
Patricia Keegan PhD CChem MRSC
Consultant QP
- Over 30 years' experience in Pharmaceuticals, including 22 years as Site Head of QC/QA. Dosage form experience includes granules, creams and ointments, pessaries, medicated sponges and sterile products. Significant experience in Laboratory Management gained as Head of QC/QA supporting a range of manufacturing activities. Additional responsibility for site Quality and Compliance including resourcing, budgeting, hosting regulatory (HPRA, MHRA) and corporate inspections, development of the Quality Management System and Quality targets. Experience in liaising and auditing on a global basis in Europe, Switzerland & USA in the main.
- Qualified Person with experience in the manufacture and packaging of a wide range of product formats
- Eligible as QP for IMP and commercial products.
- Experienced Quality manager with responsibility for developing the Quality Function and Quality Management Systems
- Significant experience in preparing for and hosting audits and inspections
- Experienced auditor of manufacturing facilities, service providers and material suppliers
Andrew Millington MChem MRSC
QA Advisor and Trainee QP
- Nearly 20 years' experience in Pharmaceuticals, including 18 years with inhalation products. Experience in laboratory management with operational function overlap gained through Quality leadership roles in New Product Introduction and Establishment, Analytical Support, Analytical Transfer, Stability, Finished Product, Incoming Packaging and Raw Materials testing. Other responsibilities in these roles have included resource management, budgeting and quotations, hosting customer visits, supporting customer and regulatory inspections.
- Currently undergoing training as a Qualified Person.
- Experienced Quality Leader with background in Quality Management Systems, Continuous Improvement and Technical Investigations.
- Experience in preparation for and hosting audits and inspections.
- IRCA certified auditor of manufacturing facilities, service providers and material suppliers.
Jonathan Ruffle MSc PGDip MRSB
QA Advisor and Trainee QP
- Almost ten years' experience in Pharmaceuticals, working on IMP supply chains and quality systems. Author of bespoke quality systems for manufacturers, laboratories, storage, importation and distribution sites in the UK and the EU. Responsible for Pharmaceutical Solutions' EU and GB quality systems, including document writing and raising and progression of quality system elements.
- Currently undergoing training as a Qualified Person.
- Experience in preparation for and hosting audits and inspections from agencies such as the MHRA, the HPRA and the VMD
- IRCA certified auditor of manufacturing facilities, service providers and material suppliers.
